MONROE, LA- The Monroe Moccasins have announced that they have traded Joakim Nilsson & Future Considerations to the Hudson Valley Venom for Jake Schultz & Noah Robinson.
Schultz, 28, has experience playing in the FPHL, SPHL, & ECHL playing most recently with the Elmira River Sharks of the FPHL and Worcester Railers of the ECHL where he was an Assistant Captain. Shultz won Defenseman of the Year in the FPHL in the 2022/23 Season.
“I’m coming to win a championship and Monroe is the best city to win one for,” said Schultz.
“We are excited to have Jake join us in Monroe. His physicality is unmatched. He’ll ensure his team isn’t pushed around and will always set the tone.” said President and Managing Partner Parker Moskal. “Playing with and against Jake throughout my career I know what a difference maker he can be for a team and that is proven with where he has played and his earning of Defenseman of the Year for the league in 2023!”
Robinson, 27, a fan favorite while playing for the Baton Rouge Zydeco played 52 games, and earned 22 Goals & 18 Assists for a total of 40 points.
“I’m excited to be back in Louisiana and I can’t wait to meet all the amazing fans,” said Robinson .
“Noah was a fan favorite while in Baton Rouge and I know the fans in Monroe will love him as well” said President and Managing Partner Parker Moskal. “He is a natural Goal Scorer and will be sure to help lead the team to win a championship!”
The Monroe Moccasins will have their first home game on October 11th @ 7PM at the Monroe Civic Center.
